Our 9 and a half year old Doberman, Gus, was diagnosed with the much too common Wobblers syndrome by ISU vet college. We knew from past experience that surgery wasn’t the best option. As Dr. Van had treated another one of our Dobes with this,
we rushed Gus down to IVAC. Dr. Van did one acupuncture session and we loaded
him up and brought him home.
Gus was totally down, could not walk. He rested that evening and the next day I left
the house for 20 minutes and while I was out, this boy managed to make it from the
dining room floor to the bedroom. The following week, with some assistance, he was
on his feet. His next appointment he walked in to IVAC on his own!
He went back once a week for a month, then twice a month for two months, then
once a month for “tune ups”. We were also giving him Meridian Comfort herbal pills.
On one visit I asked Dr to look at our other Doberman, Reba. He said she had a torn ACL. He suggested we give her these pills too. It took a week and she quit limping
when she got up.
I can not say how thankful we are to have known Gary and Vicki personally before all
this happened. I am a firm believer in acupuncture and with what all these fine folks
have done for our fur kids.
Sadly, 9 months later, Gus passed away from cancer. Reba is still with us and has spondylosis. Since we had moved from IA, I contacted Dr Van and he said he had
no problem with us finding an acupuncture vet up here. We found one and she is
having acupuncture treatments whith great improvement.
